More catching up on my posts for the @californails November nail art challenge on Instagram. I have to admit this is the one prompt that in the beginning I was not very excited about – on the color spectrum maroon just might be my least favorite color. I just don’t understand why you would want to mix brown with red, pink or purple, which are probably my favorite colors besides black. That being said I am SO glad I did this design and went on the hunt for a “maroon” polish because I have now re-discovered the whole spectrum of burgundy and wine colors – and now I love them! I think this will be the start of a new color family collection in my life…
Both of these polishes are pretty amazing. The glitter speaks for itself, but I am in love with my new Rimmel polish “Burgundy Flirt” I picked up for this design – it is such a beautiful wine color. This was one of those rare manicures I kept on my nails for a week because I liked it so much I just couldn’t take it off! And it had a lot to do with the polish, there is a lot to love about it:
- Didn’t chip at all in about 8 days, just a bit of wear on the tips WITHOUT ANY TOPCOAT
- Very pretty perfume style, larger square bottle
- Beautiful and rich color in just two coats
- Easy to work with formula that is super smooth
- Glossy finish (pictures are without topcoat)
