I’m SO excited to show you how my “red” prompt for @clairestelle8 June Nail Challenge came out! These are some bad ass red ombre nails blinged out with silver foil, silver spikes and studs, and red rhinestones and caviar beads – oh my!
For the base I first put down two coats of Sally Hansen Triple Shine Redflection and let that dry. Then using a makeup sponge I created an ombré of red glitter, to red, to pink. The pink didn’t come out very bright since my base was so dark, but I like the subtlety of this gradient. Next just for a little added touch I put one coat of a holographic silver glitter on my ring finger as an accent.
Then finally the last step for the base, I applied a layer of topcoat and set in pieces of Born Pretty Store Silver Nail Art Foils. I really LOVE these foils and the value is terrific. After doing all 10 nails for this manicure you literally can’t tell I used any at all – these pots are going to last forever!
Last I added a bunch of studs, rhinestones and caviar beads. The two larger studs are custom-made by gluing different studs together using a stroke of brush-on nail resin. To place the studs, spikes, and rhinestones I also used the brush on nail resin because it really holds – much better than a top coat ever could! But for the caviar beads I did use regular topcoat to ensure nothing would show in the photographs – goes without saying they didn’t last long, right?!? 😉 Let me know if you would rock this look!
