Candy Corn Stripes & Studs Halloween Nail Art

Who loves Halloween? I do! My favorite time of year is finally here and this year I plan to take FULL advantage of the spooky season with all kinds of Halloween themed manicures. There are so many that I have wanted to do for years and this year I want to try as many as I can.

I was inspired to do a whole series of different themed Halloween nails this year, which I will introduce tomorrow. Of course my first inspiration has to be candy, because my sweet tooth rivals Fez from “That ’70’s Show” for sure, lol! The first thing I notice each year that alerts me that my time of year is finally here is for sure the bags and bags of CANDY CORN in the stores. Yay and Yum!

These are my super simple candy corn inspired nails. I wanted to make a look that anyone could do freehand with just the nail polish brushes and without any tape. Easy, bright and festive!

First I painted my entire nail white to make sure that the yellow and orange polishes would really pop. Then I used a neon orange polish and holding the brush horizontal to my nail instead of vertical, I made a quick stripe across the center of each nail. Next I filled in the moon area using the line from the orange as a guide. I had to repeat the orange and yellow one more time to get full opacity. Next I coated my nails with a thick coat of Seche Vite fast dry top coat to even out the layers and waited for that to dry.

Last using a dotting tool I dotted on some super glue and placed black rhinestones down the lines where each color meets. I used three or four medium-sized stones starting from the middle of my nail, then switched to smaller rhinestones as I worked my way out. Covering up the lines with studs is fun because then your lines don’t have to be perfect since no one will ever see them! 😉

You can seal everything with a topcoat to make the stones stay put even longer, but I didn’t here. More candy corn inspired nail art coming tomorrow! Can’t wait? Here is a sparkly candy corn set I did last Halloween.

That’s it! What do you think of this look? Would you wear it this holiday season?
