I have decided that June will be the month of nail art challenges for me. I really want to dive back in to nail art now that I have the blog back up, so I’m going to try to complete three challenges this month and step up my nail game. Since I decided this just yesterday I already have a bit of catch up to do. BUT I unknowingly completed my first prompt, “neon” with my bright neon lightning look so now I’m on to my next catch up look prompt “music”!
For this look I used almost 100% acrylic paints. When I started to doodle it was just for practice and to get an idea of what I wanted to do, but then I ended up really liking it! So there is no basecoat or undie, I just started painting straight onto my nail using a detail brush. First I tried to do a visualizer like effect coming out from the center, but it didn’t come out the way I imagined it in my head. So next I started making yellow and orange squiggles and thought that was kinda neat. To finish up the look I used some more colors to fill in the empty spaces, then of course some spots of holographic glitter and pink confetti.
I CAN SEE THE MUSIC! Here it is up close, lol. I put on two THICK coats of top coat but the paint just ate it up so there was no getting it smooth and super glossy. I’ve never had this issue with acrylic paint before so I bet it was because there was no other nail polish for the topcoat to adhere too – and the fact that my natural nails are extremely porous. But I like how these came out – bright and fun like a concert! Let me know what you think.
