Hello! Anybody here? I’ve been gone sooooo long – way too long. And it feels great to be back! I was away for the same reason many of us in the blogging world go away – major life changes. But I’m happy to say that for once in my adult life all the recent changes are leading to better, brighter things. I’m so excited for all the upcoming changes in the next year, and I have so many projects and ideas for this blog as well. I miss having a place to express my creativity, and I really, really miss my nice nails and painting them.
While I was away I’m embarrassed to say I’ve let my nail maintenance take a back seat. That wouldn’t be so bad if I didn’t also work on ALL THE PROJECTS. So my apartment looks great but my hands are trashed! More on that in my next post where I’ll share my plan to whip these beaten hands back into shape.
So for today I wanted to share a look I did awhile back and we’ll save the absolute horror of my hands for another day. Back when I was obsessed with the Sinful Colors New Neons I created this simple and subtle glitter gradient. To create this look I first painted a few coats of Sinful Colors Vivid a Try as a base.
ThenI brushed on a generous amount ofHorizon Shine onto a cosmetics wedge sponge (the kind with texture, not the smooth ones) and dabbed it onto the tip of my nail. I did this a few times until I was happy with the gradient effect – I wanted to keep it slightly subtle for this look.
Last I painted the accent nail with a simple geometric pattern. Using Sinful ColorsLavender and a detail brush I painted on a row of diamonds down the center of the nail. Then I connected these on each side with a straight line from top to bottom. Top with topcoat and done! S-P-A-R-K-L-Y!
