Vintage Abstraction – Sally Hansen Vintage Confetti

Today’s nails were inspired by Miss Ladyfinger, who does awesome fashion designer inspired nail designs. Her dry brushing was inspired by Ferretti, but I think mine turned out more like a vintage Chanel suit. This combination of polishes really MADE this look, and it was super fast.

Vintage Abtraction

This is an easy three-step manicure. First, I painted a base coat of Sally Hansen’s Vintage Confetti (click for more photos, including a macro shot). This is a really pretty glitter topper with a weird but awesome mix of glitters. It has tiny and medium light pink hex glitters, small hot pink bar glitters, medium black hex glitters AND flecks of gold foil. I love it so much.

Second I used Pure Ice’s Love to dry brush on the sides of each nail. I grabbed a small fan brush and dipped it in the polish. Before brushing it from the sides of my nail into the center, I brushed most the polish off on a plastic bag. This is the only way I’ve ever been able to get a “dry brush” effect – by wiping most of the polish off first and doing lots of coats. Third and final step I cleaned the fan brush then dipped it in gold and did one quick layer on each side of my nail to add a bit more glam and shine.
